Alternative Rock virtuoso Marshland Pete is reborn, returning with his latest single Phoenix Rising. From the lowest ebb to a new beginning. Phoenix Rising is a heavy riff, fuzz driven, raw, gritty, Garage Rock / Alternative Rock song that enlivens the spirit.
The lyrics inspired by recovering from the worst of times in life, to new beginnings full of hope and promise.
Marshland Pete’s unique, technical expressive guitar playing shines on the single. Featuring dive-bombing, tapping and various other techniques whilst still giving a little bluesy flair. The track offers Pete the opportunity for a rejuvenation of his own style. Being more ambitious and experimental than ever before.
Four time ACM nominee and current touring bassist for Peter Frampton, Alison Prestwood returns to provide groove on the bass. A talented drummer, who has performed across the UK and Europe in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Opera House, Claire Brock provides dynamics and rhythm on drums. Joining a Marshland Pete project for the first time, Vocal Works Gospel Choir star and accomplished actress, Bindy Baker provides soulful, powerful accompanying vocals.
The Marshland Pete parts of the song were recorded at Chime Tone Studios, London. Recording for the song by the other musicians was recorded at various locations around the world before being combined into the work. With Marshland Pete producing and mixing the record.
Mastering was by Bobbi Giel, head engineer at the Nashville studio, Welcome to 1979.
